Before Frank called us to renovate his basement laundry/workshop room it was a big organized mess. He had a work bench that he used that was overstocked with tools and equipment and the laundry area was not very functional for his wife. They both had a vision of a beautiful space that would accommodate both of their needs. Frank and his wife visited us while we were working on George’s basement because he wanted to check out our work and speak with our client directly. They were very pleased to find that we were clean, honest and were doing detailed work. Frank being an inspector for the city was all about the details. We came up with a plan to have cabinets continue around the room with plenty of storage and counter space. After removing everything down to the bare bones we re-wired new spot lights in the ceiling, new switches and new outlets as per their requests. We re-plumbed for the new laundry machines and sink. A new window, wooden door and storm door were installed and sealed properly to ensure no air drafts.

After removing everything down to the bare bones we re-wired new spot lights in the ceiling, new switches and new outlets as per their requests. We re-plumbed for the new laundry machines and sink. A new window, wooden door and storm door were installed and sealed properly to ensure no air drafts. We built partitions and soffits to enclose all mechanical systems including overhead HVAC duct work and the boiler and heater for the house. Beautiful louvered doors were installed to allow for proper ventilation for the new utility room and closet. Big ceramic tiles with a natural texture were installed in a diamond pattern throughout the basement floor. The front loading laundry machines were installed underneath the countertop to maximize counter space. The cabinets were built up to clear the units and the bases of the cabinets were tiled to match the floor and double as a border around the room which came out perfect. We pushed late nights to get this detailed project finished and had daily meetings with Frank, who of course always had questions for me. When the project was complete, Frank and his wife were in love with the new basement. Even better was we had passed final inspection by Frank which is an accomplishment in my book. Overall the basement was a major transformation in both looks and functionality and we made a very nice couple happy.
